Course Overview
This course is aimed at young people who are interested in events management and have a passion for organising outstanding showcases, workshops and public events. Gain a complete insight into the event management and the workings of the music industry. Find out practical knowledge that event managers, promoters and emerging music industry creative’s need in their professional lives. Through the course you will experience all the responsibilities and pressures of organising a professional live show. As a member of the events team you will respond to a range of live briefs and put your knowledge and industry experience into the professional delivery of quality live events. You will also help to programme and curate IAMDV8, DV8 Training festival of creativity and music that fuses together the creative output of DV8 Training’s many courses. Meet high profile industry guests and attend a variety of live events to gain a deeper understanding of the music industry and its requirements. Past headliners have included Wiley, Wretch 32, Devlin, Shola Ama etc.
Develop a broad understanding of the professional requirements through the exploration of various roles including:
- Events Concept development
- Contracts & Budgets
- Artist liaison
- Finance
- Sponsorship
- Stage management
- Event production
- Marketing& Promotion

You could earn the following qualifications:
- EDI Level 2 certificate in supporting Live events
- NCFE Level 1 Award in Interpersonal Skills
- Level 1 or 2 functional skills in English Maths and ICT
Industry Opportunities/What can I do after?
The Portfolio you build along with the skills you have developed can be applied to a range of jobs or training within the creative industries. You will be able to progress into a higher level course or a Live Events and Promotion Apprenticeship with DV8 or other providers.
