This course is aimed at young people who are passionate about Music Production and want to learn all the skills that are needed to make professional tracks in pre-production and the recording studio environment. You will learn how to market your material using all of the amazing technology that is now available in the world of interactive media. On this course you will study a range of skills aimed at developing them into a modern performer / Musician. This will include how to use computers to create music, develop multi-track recording techniques, how to work with others to produce music, how to perform music to an audience.

Alongside this, you will study creative media production, which will include video production, photography techniques, digital graphic skills and interactive media production skills. The whole course is designed to prepare students for the hi-tech, music orientated world that we live in and will be an exciting look at what opportunities there are for young people looking for career in ‘Music & Media’.

You could gain the following qualifications:

• Ed-excel BTEC Diploma in Music Level 2
• Ed-excel BTEC Creative Media Production Level 2
• Maths and English qualifications at Heathcote 6th Form

Learners who have completed the BTEC Diploma in Music and Media will have a grounding in a range of musical skills and areas, which will act as a solid background for progression to qualifications in Music or Media at Level 3 an apprenticeship or into the world of work.
