DV8 I-Port Software

DV8's i-port is a tool to create an online portfolio of a range of digital media including audio, video, blogs and biographies using only a web browser. The software supports the concept of personalised learning by using customisable web software that allows the user to control the look and feel of their individual site.

The i-port uses the ‘Myspace’ principle of customised design and content management that the user can access via the internet to create their own unique virtual company. The i-port achieves this by deploying a multi-page website that can be configured and deployed by a tutor.

Each i-port contains a music player, picture viewer, message board and a mailing list and can be password protected by the tutor for work with underage learners. Groups can work togther on a i-port or each learner can have their own individual site.

It is a great tool for assessing a learners final portfolio by creating a ‘digital folder’ to present their work.
