Calling all street poets, MCs, lyricists, vocal divas and musical minds!

Want to feature on an SBTV curated anthem for peace, inspired by New Day Foundation‘s track Going For Gold, and attend a star studded Roundhousegig on 28 August?

Then Peace Mix needs you: we want your vocals, rhymes, melodies, spoken word, instrumentals and beats to create the most awesome peace anthemever. Our aim: a huge collaboration track to spread harmony across the UK and feature the best music talent possible – which could include YOU!

Step 1: Get inspired to make your message of peace! Here’s our Peace Mix brief:

What is ‘peace’ to you? Think about your message and communicating this through music or lyrics. We’re in tough times: how does conflict and resolution affect you? How do you want to push peace?

Then listen to our backing track created by SBTV and think about how you’ll contribute: vocals, raps, spoken word, percussion, instrumental or beats.

Step 2: Choose a section to add to: intro, chorus or one of our three verses?

Intro: ideally we’re looking for attention-grabbing spoken words or rhymes to kickstart our song – but if you’re inspired to create music or vocals go for it!

Chorus: vocalists – we need you for our chorus! Listen and think about your melody line to get people hooked.

The three verses: we want everyone to get creative with our verses – grime, hip hop or world – with vocal lines, rhymes or raps, spoken word, instrumentals, percussion or beats!

We’ve a full version of each verse to download, plus an instrumental only for percussionists or beat masters to play around with – and a drums only version for musicians and melody makers.

Step 3: Finished your section? Then submit and enter!

Upload your finished entry to Soundcloud (preferred) or YouTube, fill out the form below, making sure to include a link to your entry – then hit submit!

We won’t disclose your email address, display or compromise any private information not in the public domain to anyone. Read our Privacy Policy and full Terms and Conditions to find out more.

Deadline for entries is 11.59pm Monday 13 August 2012
